HP Launches First Victus Desktop PC for Gamers on a Budget

HP introduced the "Victus by HP" brand last year with the HP Victus 16 gaming laptop, and now we're getting the first Victus desktop gaming PC.

Victus is the more affordable alternative to the HP Omen series of hardware, and the Victus by HP 15L Desktop features a compact design, but doesn't skimp on the specs. HP is promising a range of configuration options, including a choice of 12th-gen Intel Core i7 and the latest AMD Ryzen processors. For graphics cards, expect options up to a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 and AMD's Radeon RX 6600 XT. Up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM can be installed, and although there are no specific detail yet, I'd be surprised if there weren't a wide range of M.2 SSD options, too.

HP is also pushing the sustainability focus of the design. The 15L uses post-consumer recycled plastic in the bezel and is both Energy Star certified and EPEAT Silver Registered. Two color finishes are available—Mica Silver or Ceramic White—and HP says water-based paint is used to increase the green credentials of this desktop even further.

We don't know pricing for the Victus by HP 15L Desktop yet, but HP is planning a February launch with direct sales via HP.com and availability at a number of retailers. Hopefully, HP can produce enough of them, especially those models fitted with an RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT, to keep up with the inevitable demand from gamers.
