Minecraft FREE content on offer to celebrate Lunar New Year; check new Map

Minecraft is celebrating the Lunar New Year and is offering a bunch of free items for all its users. Available between February 1-7, players can get a free tiger mask and tiger sweater to celebrate the Lunar Year of the Tiger. But probably the most exciting gift from Minecraft is a brand new map. The map called ‘Legend of Nezha’ is available for free in the Minecraft marketplace. So make sure that you check out the amazing gifts by Minecraft.

Minecraft’s freebies are part of its Lunar New Year celebration. Lunar New Year is celebrated by many Asian countries like China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam and more. The Lunar New Year does not have any fixed date like the Gregorian counterpart as it is based on the moon's 12 phases where each phase is around 29 days long. In 2022, the Lunar New Year was on February 1, 2022. Each year is also dedicated to an animal. While 2021 was the year of the Ox, 2022 is the year of the Tiger. So, let us check out this year of the Tiger, what can you look forward to while playing Minecraft.

Minecraft cosmetics are something every player looks forward to. It adds a lot of value to the game’s customization driven mechanics. The new tiger mask and sweater will add to players' catalogue. However, do ensure that you claim the free items before February 7th as they will not be available in the marketplace after that. In order to claim it, you can simply go to your inventory.

The most exciting part of the free gift however is the new map. Legend of Nezha tells the story of the Third Lotus Prince and deity Nezha who has to defeat the Dragon King Zhou and the evil Stone Queen. Developed by Next Studio, this map will take you on a mythical journey where you will get to explore Chinese mythology. And all this for free. You can simply go to Minecraft marketplace and get the map. If you cannot see it on the map, simply search for it. Also, if you cannot play it right away, do not worry. The map will be available to play for the next 12 months or February 1, 2023.
