Sick of going through the Windows 11 Settings panels to customize your Bluetooth settings? Microsoft has good news for you.

While Windows does let you add and remove Bluetooth devices, you do need to jump through a few hoops to get things working properly. However, Microsoft is aiming to fix that with an update to Windows 11 that enhances how you use Bluetooth on your computer.

Microsoft's Changes to Bluetooth Devices on Windows 11

Right now, accessing the Bluetooth settings is a bit of a chore. You do have the Bluetooth panel in the Quick Settings panel, but it's a little restrictive; you can only turn it on and off. As we covered in our guide on how to use Bluetooth on Windows 11, you have to dive into the Settings panel to do anything more complicated.

However, as reported by The Verge, Microsoft is working on making the process a lot faster in Windows 11. As spotted in the Windows 11 Insider Build 22563, Microsoft is enhancing the Bluetooth Quick Settings panel so you can pair and unpair devices right there and then.

Not only that, but connected devices will report back their battery levels through this new interface. This means it'll be a lot easier to see how much juice your headphones have without needing to dive into the Settings panel.

If you've ever had to mess around with your connected Bluetooth devices on Windows, you'll know how hidden-away the settings are. You need to go quite deep into the Settings panel before you're allowed to pair and disconnect anything.

As such, it's good to see that Microsoft is making it more intuitive to manage your devices. Especially by giving the user an easy way to check the battery levels of their devices, which was otherwise a bit of a chore to do.

No Longer Blue About Bluetooth

With this new update, Microsoft is making it easier than ever to manage your Bluetooth devices on Windows 11. Here's hoping the feature rolls out smoothly to users on the main branch soon.
